Town of Watertown Zoning Board of Appeals

Mr. Wormwood called the regular November meeting of the Town of Watertown Zoning Board of Appeal to order at 7:00 p.m.
Motion 14-21: Motion by Mr. Wormwood, seconded by Mrs. Kiernan to accept the minutes of the October 4, 2021 meeting as written and distributed.
Ayes All: Motion Carried.
VARIANCE REQUEST
Stewart’s Shops – 23858-864 NYS Route 126 – Tax Map #83.15-3-14 – Variance request of side setback requirements to build a 6′ x 14′ three-sided overhand on the building to store equipment. Zoning requires 20′ they have 16′. A public hearing needs to be scheduled and the matter needs to be referred to the Jefferson County Department of Planning for review.
Steven Scaparo, Stewart’s Shops, presented proposed plans for the construction of a 6′ x 14′ three-sided overhand on the building to store equipment.
The Board stated that the adjacent property owner is opposed to a variance for the construction of this building. Discussion followed.
Mr. Scaparo stated that Stewart’s Shop’s would be willing to plant a vegetative buffer or put up a fence at a reasonable cost, if the adjacent property owner agrees.
Motion 15-21: Motion by Mr. Wormwood, seconded by Mrs. Knapp to schedule a public hearing for a variance request of side setback requirements for the construction of a 6′ x 14′ three-sided overhand for Stewart’s Shops, 23858-864 NYS Route 126 on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
Ayes All: Motion Carried.
This matter is being referred to the Jefferson County Department of Planning for review.
Motion 16-21: Motion by Mr. Wormwood, seconded by Mr. Dulmage to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m.
