Mr. Wormwood called the regular June meeting of the Town of Watertown Zoning Board of Appeal to order at 7:00 p.m.
Motion 1-22: Motion by Mr. Wormwood, seconded by Mr. Cooney to accept the minutes of the December 6, 2021 meeting as written and distributed.
Ayes All: Motion Carried.
Motion 2-22: Motion by Mr. Wormwood, seconded by Mrs. Knapp to reschedule the regular July meeting of the Town of Watertown Zoning Board of Appeal to Monday, July 11, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. due to the 4th of July Holiday.
Ayes All: Motion Carried.
VARIANCE REQUEST
Timothy Lehman – 22797 Fralick Road – Tax Map #91.17-1-7 – Variance request to install a 12′ x 20′ storage building. Zoning requires a 30′ side setback.
Timothy Lehman reviewed the proposed plans to install a 12′ x 20′ storage building from North Country Storage Barns on his property located at 22797 Fralick Road, Tax Map #91.17-1-7. Mr. Lehman would like to place the building 6′ from the property line as it is the only accessible area without possible risk of damage to his septic/leech field. Mr. Lehman is asking for a variance of the required side setback to install this storage building. Zoning requires 30′ in a R1 zone. Discussion followed.
Mr. Wormwood stated that he talked with neighbors and one neighbor is against this variance request. Mr. Wormwood asked Mr. Lehman if he could contact North Country Storage Barns to figure out a way to deliver this building to another area on his property that would be within the zoning requirements and would not risk damage to his septic/leech field. Discussion followed.
Mr. Lehman will contact North Country Storage Barns. He also requested that a public hearing be scheduled in the event that he still needs to request a variance. He will be on vacation in July and would like the public hearing scheduled for the August meeting.
Motion 3-22: Motion by Mrs. Knapp, seconded by Mr. Wormwood to schedule a public hearing on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. for a side setback variance for Timothy Lehman, 22797 Fralick Road, Tax Map #91.17-1-7 for the installation a 12′ x 20′ storage building.

Livingston Moving & Storage – 21207 NYS Route 12F – Tax Map #73.20-1-7.1 – Variance request to install scales. Side setback requires 30′.
Kelvin Berghorn, on behalf of Livingston Moving & Storage, presented proposed plans to replace existing scales at 21207 NYS Route 12F with new scales that would require a variance of the side setback requirements. Zoning requires 30′ in a neighborhood/commercial zone. Discussion followed.
Motion 4-22: Motion by Mr. Wormwood, seconded by Mrs. Kiernan to schedule a public hearing on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. for a side setback variance for Livingston Moving & Storage, 21207 NYS Route 12, Tax Map #73.20-1-7.1 to install new scales, conditional upon receipt of the application fee.

Motion 5-22: Motion by Mr. Wormwood, seconded by Mrs. Knapp to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m.
