Supervisor Bartlett called the Special Meeting of the Town Board to order at 3:30 pm.
MOTION #24-2018
Supervisor Bartlett moved to adjourn to executive session at 3:32 pm to discuss personnel issues, Councilman McAtee seconded.

The meeting was reconvened at 3:51 pm.
MOTION/ RESOLUTIONS
MOTION #25-2018
WHEREAS, since February 15th, 2018 a vacancy exists in the Town Justice Court with the resignation of Justice Andrew Capone; and
WHEREAS, in order to fill the vacancy the Town Council must appoint an individual to fill the office of Town Justice until the next General Election; and
WHEREAS, Matthew Porter, a town resident and competent practicing attorney with judicial experience has requested appointment to the office and has a satisfactory recommendation from the current remaining Town Justice.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Matthew Porter, a town resident and practicing attorney is hereby appointed to the vacant position of Town of Watertown Justice for the remainder of this fiscal year with the term ending December 31, 2018.
A motion to adopt the foregoing resolution was made by Supervisor Bartlett and second by Councilman Prosser, and upon a roll call vote of the Board was duly adopted as follows:
Supervisor, Joel Bartlett Yes
Councilman, Paul Desormo Yes
Councilman, David Prosser Yes
Councilman, Tim McAtee Abstain
Councilwoman, Joanne McClusky Abstain
Supervisor Bartlett reminded Mr. Porter to stop into the Clerk’s Office to take the Oath of Office and sign the Official Undertaking. He will also check with Attorney Russell concerning possible conflicts with Mr. Porter’s position on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Mr. Porter thanked the Town Board.
